Nestled in the heart of the world-renowned Three Valleys, Méribel offers a sublime combination of varied terrain, world-class amenities, and timeless Alpine charm. The Méribel Valley is elegantly divided into four main ski areas: Tougnète, Saulire, Altiport, and Mottaret. Tougnète, Saulire, and Altiport are easily accessed from La Chaudanne in central Méribel, while Mottaret can be reached on skis or via the complimentary shuttle service that links the valley. All major lift systems begin at La Chaudanne.
For beginners, Méribel is a dream, with excellent ski schools and an abundance of gentle green and blue pistes. We particularly love the serene, immaculately groomed Foan run from Tougnète 2, and Biche, with its sweeping curves and stunning vistas. Intermediate skiers are spoiled for choice with sweeping blues and challenging reds, such as the scenic Roc de Fer and the thrilling Combe du Vallon from Mont Vallon. Advanced skiers will relish the technical descents of Saulire’s Tournier Couloir and Bartavelle’s infamous moguls. Off-piste opportunities abound, from secret powder stashes to wide alpine bowls, though always best enjoyed with a local guide. For freestyle enthusiasts, Méribel boasts two impressive snowparks: DC Area 43 for seasoned riders, and Elements Park for those newer to the scene.
The views and scenery are one of the many reasons Méribel is so popular; it is synonymous with wide, sprawling ski trails covering the Three Valleys network, allowing skiers to dip into other resorts as they please, such as neighbouring Courchevel and Val Thorens, to name a few.
